Graffiti Removal Course

The WA Police Graffiti Team is working in partnership with MPA Skills to offer a graffiti removal course for local councils, not-for-profit organisations and volunteers.

The two day course has been developed to provide competency in graffiti removal and application of protective coatings.  It is intended that participants who have completed the course will be capable of managing and executing the process of graffiti removal, and that this be carried out with consideration for the safety of the contractor, building occupants and the community.

Graduates of this course receive a certificate of competency from MPA Skills as having completed the Nationally Accredited module CPCCPD3029A  Remove graffiti and apply protective coatings.

Expressions of interest are currently being invited from volunteers, local councils and not-for-profit organisations to attend the graffiti removal course.

Course Details Venue: MPA Skills Painting Division 108 Caledonia Avenue, Maylands

Course Aims: To provide the participant with basic technical knowledge and safe working practices, to manage or remove graffiti while complying with relevant safety and environmental issues and industry standards.

Learning Objectives: At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Assess various surfaces and materials;
  • apply products safely to standards set by manufacturers;
  • remove or manage graffiti; and
  • be assessed in the course competencies.

Note: These courses are certified however the Painters’ Registration Act 1961, section 4(1), states that for removal of graffiti by paint application, above $200, it is required that a registered painter with at least five (5) years experience be employed. Completion of a certified course does not constitute a registered painter.
